The SQN Labs Data Charter

This charter sets out the rights and commitments that govern every interaction on the SQN Labs platform. It is not a legal document — it is a promise.

1. Your Data Belongs to You

We do not own your data. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for purposes you have not explicitly consented to. You can export, correct, or delete your data at any time.

2. Transparency is Non-Negotiable

Every data processing activity is logged, auditable, and visible to you. We use KSI (Keyless Signature Infrastructure) to create tamper-evident records of every action. If we process your data, you can see exactly what happened and when.

3. Consent is Continuous

Consent is not a one-time checkbox. You can modify, extend, or withdraw consent for any data category at any time. Changes take effect immediately and are sealed in the audit trail.

4. Fair Value Exchange

When your data creates value, you share in that value. The marketplace operates on transparent pricing with full visibility into who is requesting what, why, and for how much. You always have the final say.

5. Collective Power

Cooperatives amplify individual sovereignty. When you join a cooperative, your anonymised data contributes to collective bargaining power. Individual identities are never exposed to requesters or other cooperative members.

6. Trust is Measured

Every data controller is scored on 10 trust dimensions. Scores are based on verified behaviour, not self-reported compliance. You can see a controller's trust score before sharing any data. Collective scores aggregate anonymously.

7. Portability is Guaranteed

Your data is always exportable in standard, machine-readable formats (JSON, CSV). No lock-in, no exit fees, no artificial barriers. If you leave, your data leaves with you.

8. Security by Design

Data at rest is encrypted. Data in transit is encrypted. Access is controlled by role-based permissions. Every access event is logged. Infrastructure is containerised, monitored, and hardened against attack.

9. Accountability

We hold ourselves to the same standards we apply to data controllers. The sovereignty framework audits our own platform (dogfooding). Our trust score is public. Our compliance is verifiable.

10. Open Standards

The sovereignty framework is built on open standards and designed for extraction. Any platform can implement these tools. Data sovereignty should not be proprietary.

This charter is effective from the date of your account creation. It is reviewed quarterly and updated in line with evolving best practices. Changes are communicated in advance and logged in the platform audit trail.
